To improve innovation and enrich the profession, managers have a unique and powerful role in helping improve career opportunities and advancement for underrepresented minorities. 91成人短视频 engineering overall lags with getting and keeping underrepresented minorities in the profession and AIChE is committed to helping improve this. This session will share ways that managers can "break the norm" of the culture of engineering to help women and people of different race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and abilities feel more welcome and bring all of their talents to the profession. Keys to be discussed include building networks of "high gain" contacts, finding sponsors and advocating with peers.

3:00 pm 鈥 4:00 pm
Decades ago, workplaces began to focus on diversity, and then inclusion was added. Now, to compete well, the entire spectrum of equity must be pursued in addition to diversity & inclusion. This helps bring all "voices to the table" and fosters more innovation. Leading companies have inclusion with flatter organizations and apply engagement to all stakeholders, not just employees. Leaders in the future need to have strong emotional intelligence to lead diverse teams and must foster workplaces with psychological safety, and be adept at teaming with many intersectional employees from different countries, backgrounds and locations. Case studies will be shared to give insights to future leaders.

Please join us for a conversation about AIChE鈥檚 exciting new Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI), a national industry-wide program which provides scholarships to students pursuing STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  These students are afforded leadership development, mentoring and internship opportunities at participating companies. When our industry opens doors in underserved communities to science, technology, engineering, and math education, we鈥檙e helping equip ourselves and the world with a diverse, highly talented future workforce ready to bring the perspective and intellect needed to innovate and tackle the big challenges that lie ahead.  Up to 150 students will be selected as the first cohort of future innovators and change makers. Panelists include Ashley S. Christopher, Esq., CEO HBCU Week Foundation; Kimberly White, Vice President, Regulatory and Technical Affairs Division, American Chemistry Council (ACC); Elliot M.
