BASF and Chemours Champion Safety and Ethical Practice
This summer, BASF and Chemours, 2 Founders鈥� Circle members of the AIChE Foundation's campaign, hosted 3-day faculty workshops focused on process safety. Part of the AIChE Undergraduate Process Safety Learning Initiative and run by AIChE鈥檚 Center for 91成人短视频 Process Safety (CCPS), these workshops provide educators with an in-depth look at the importance of process safety education for undergraduates.
The faculty workshops offer professors the opportunity to learn how to incorporate fundamental safety concepts into their undergraduate curriculums which the next generation of engineers will use in the workforce. Faculty from 15 universities across the country, along with a few international faculty, were in attendance. BASF welcomed 13 faculty members from July 26th-28th at their manufacturing facility in Wyandotte, MI, and Chemours hosted 9 members from August 16th-18th at their Corpus Christi, TX plant. BASF and Chemours have hosted these workshops since 2018 and continue to demonstrate their commitment to safety and ethical practice.
The 3-day program was very well received, with many educators praising the breakout groups, the tools shared with them to incorporate process safety into their existing curricula, and the real-life examples that made these workshops an excellent learning experience.
Doing a World of Good Through Safety and Ethical Practice
AIChE鈥檚 Doing a World of Good campaign brings together industry, academia, and AIChE鈥檚 60,000 members to collectively advance chemical engineering and bring that expertise to bear in addressing societal needs. The Undergraduate Process Safety Learning Initiative is a core priority of this campaign and represents a major global effort to accelerate process safety education and better prepare graduates for the workforce.
