Air Products' Donation Advances AIChE鈥檚 LGBTQ+ & Allies Endowment
In 2018, Air Products became the first corporate donor for AIChE's LGBTQ+ & Allies endowment fund. The gift was arranged by Dr. Roger Whitley, a Distinguished Engineer at the company. In discussing Air Products鈥� commitment to inclusivity in the workforce, Whitley reflected on the notion that all organizations want to hire the best available talent, and that any engineer who is excluded from contributing represents an opportunity lost.
The LGBTQ+ & Allies Endowment was funded by a leadership gift from Eric Reiner, AIChE member and a lecturer at the Univ. of California, Berkeley鈥檚 Haas School of Business and a retired managing director at UBS AG, a Swiss multinational investment bank.
