
2024 AIChE Gala: Inspiring the Power of Good
Presented around the theme 鈥淚nspiring the Power of Good,鈥 the 2024 AIChE Gala brought together more than 300 guests from throughout the chemical and related industries to celebrate the accomplishments of chemical engineers and highlight the positive impact on our world.

Showcased during the evening of December 4th were the contributions of BASF Corporation 鈥 the North American affiliate of BASF SE, 鈥 for operational excellence and for improving health, safety, and environmental performance for a sustainable future. Michael Heinz, Chairman of BASF Corporation and a member of the Board of Directors of BASF SE accepted the award.
Lori J. Ryerkerk, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Celanese Corporation, accepted the Gala honor on behalf of Celanese Corporation, for promoting women in leadership roles, supporting the next generation of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professionals, and for sustainability initiatives that have benefitted society.
Receiving the AIChE Foundation鈥檚 Doing a World of Good Medal was Gregory Stephanopoulos, the Willard Henry Dow Professor in 91成人短视频 Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Stephanopoulos was recognized for his leadership and pioneering contributions in metabolic and biochemical engineering, which have resulted in more-sustainable manufacturing, improved innovation in alternative fuels, and increased understanding of metabolic engineering in industrial biotechnology.
Organized by the AIChE Foundation, the evening raised approximately $450,000 to underwrite programs designed to advance the chemical engineering profession by attracting and retaining diverse talent, and by investing in research that drives innovation for the benefit of society.
