AIChE Chem-E-Car Competition Safety Training Course & Quiz Instructions

The Safety Training Course & Quiz below was coordinated by AIChE Membership Staff and the AIChE Chem-E-Car Competition庐 Committee. This course will outline the safety rules of the competition and will prepare participants for the Onsite Safety Inspection at the competition. 

Please Note: As per the Chem-E-Car Official Rules document, all participating students must retake the course annually and include the certificate of completion with the EDP Supplemental submission.

1. After clicking on the link below, you will see a shopping cart displaying the Chem-E-Car Safety Training Course and Quiz for $55. You must log into your AIChE Membership account at the top of the page to make the cost $0. If you do not have an AIChE membership account, you can sign up or renew your membership here. If you cannot remember your username and password, please contact AIChE Customer Service.
2. Be sure to complete the shopping cart check out process. You must check out and complete the sale in order for this course to be added to your profile. After you checking out, click on the AIChE Academy logo on the top left to go back to the Academy homepage. 
3. From the homepage, click on the drop menu 鈥淐ourses鈥� and select 鈥淢y eLearning courses鈥�. 
4. The AIChE Chem-E-Car Safety Training Course should now be in your list of available courses to take.
5. Immediately following the Safety Training Course will be the quiz questions. The quiz consists of 25 random multiple choice questions drawn from a question bank. 
6. Once you have passed with an 80% or higher, your name will be added to a list which qualifies you to compete on your Chem-E-Car Competition庐 team. You will also receive a certificate of completion, which should be saved and included in your team's EDP documents. If you fail the quiz, you are able to take it again.

Recently joined AIChE or renewed your membership, but seeing a rate of $55 USD?  

Please take the following steps to resolve this issue:

1. Log out of
2. Clear your browser history/cache/cookies for all time
3. Close your browser
4. Open a new browser window
5. Log on to with your username and password
6. Try your 'purchase' again

Need to Access Certificate?

If you need to access your certificate again to print and include in your EDP, please follow these instructions:

1. Start by visiting and log into your AIChE Membership Account.
2. From the AIChE Academy homepage, click on the drop menu 鈥淐ourses鈥� and select 鈥淢y eLearning courses鈥�. 
3. Select the "Training History" tab and click the "View Certificate" button to view, save or print your Course Certificate.

Want to retake the course?

To receive an updated certificate, you must repurchase the course before taking it. Do not try to access the course via your "Training History" tab in your AIChE Academy homepage.

1. Contact customerservice@aiche.org and tell them that you would like to repurchase course ELA199 (the Chem-E-Car Safety Training Safety Course & Quiz) so that you can retake it and receive an updated certificate.
2. Once Customer Service has repurchased the course for you, clear your cache, cookies, and browser history data before logging back in to access the course.
3. From the homepage, click on the drop menu 鈥淐ourses鈥� and select 鈥淢y eLearning courses鈥�. 
4. The repurcahsed AIChE Chem-E-Car Safety Training Course should now be in your list of available courses to take.
