Alexei Vazquez has a PhD degree in Statistical and Biological Physics from the International School of Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy. After an initial career in network science his research focused on metabolism. Dr Vazquez鈥檚 has made significant contributions to our understanding of overflow metabolism in bacterial cells, unicellular eukaryotes, mammalian organisms and cancer. His lab is currently investigating formate metabolism in the context of normal physiology and human diseases.
