Terry Brown has been in the engineering design business since pencil was put on vellum. Changes from manual drafting to using Microstation and AutoCAD still required printed drawings and hand markups. Printing to Adobe Acrobat’s PDF file format made it easier to transmit the files, but did not provide an easy way to mark up the drawings.
Welcome to BlueBeam Revu, which allows a streamlined method to mark-up drawings, track who made the marks, and keeps from having to print the drawings for review. Terry will share a few tricks in BlueBeam Revu including using the Toolbox to save stencils, using the compare feature to see the differences between drawing revisions, and how to use layers to identify and sort comments. He will also provide information on methods to incorporate BlueBeam Revu into your drawing reviews and CAD markups. Finally, Terry’s presentation will provide a review of a project with over 150 P&IDs, where over 1500 internal markups and drawing reviews were completed without needing to print any drawings.
