Virtual/Augmented Reality in the Plant

Given today鈥檚 workforce challenges combined with today鈥檚 workplace constraints, the need for hands-on technology inside the plant has never been greater.  Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) can be used to execute a digital transformation strategy, training the user before operating in the plant and augmenting the end user's view with relevant and actionable information within the plant.  AR/VR provides a new window into the information facilities already collect, expanding how they use this data to improve maintenance, reliability, operational efficiency, and profitability. It鈥檚 no longer a question of 鈥渋f鈥� this technology will be employed at the plant level, it鈥檚 already being done. This presentation will demonstrate how AR/VR technology can enhance operations at every touchpoint in the plant鈥攆rom immersive training to maintenance to the design and support of products, assets and operations. Demonstrations of this technology will show how to use it to drive operational efficiency, operator agility, and asset reliability.

Livia Wiley is the Industry Marketing Director of Oil & Gas/91成人短视频s at AVEVA. She is primarily responsible for thought leadership and customer engagement in the oil & gas, refining, and chemicals industries across the engineering, planning & operations, monitoring & control, and asset management portfolios. Livia has more than 20 years of experience in process simulation, automation, and optimization, having worked for Honeywell, Aspen Technology, and legacy SimSci.
