Speaker: Brian Greenhalgh, Ph.D., ExxonMobil 91˶Ƶs
Brian Greenhalgh joined ExxonMobil 91˶Ƶs as an experienced hire in 2015. Since that time he has focused on the development and application of thermodynamic models in support of polymer R&D and Manufacturing. He has experience with solution, gas phase, high pressure and slurry processes, and serves a technical resource in Thermodynamics across the corporation. Prior to joining ExxonMobil, Brian worked with NOVA 91˶Ƶ in Canada as a research engineer. His formal education includes a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, a Ph.D. in 91˶Ƶ Engineering from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, and a Post-Doctoral Studies at Natural Resources Canada in Ottawa. He has also taught engineering courses at the University of Ottawa and the University of Calgary.
Topic: Thermodynamics of Solution and Gas Phase Polymerization
This presentation is divided into two parts. The first examines some interesting aspects of familiar ideas in Thermodynamics, while the second applies these to the manufacturing of polymers in solution and gas phase
