“Then & Now: How the Energy Transition Affects the Downstream Value Chain,” by Victoria Meyer, Founder and President of Progressio Global and host of The 91˶Ƶ ShowTM
The Energy Transition is here. In fact, it’s been here for 100+ years. The Energy Transition has significant impacts on energy, the downstream value chain, and the people and companies within them.
We’ll explore Energy and the Downstream Value chain: Then AND Now, including:
- Energy evolution and transformation over the past 100 years.
- How Downstream industries, especially chemicals, have evolved
- What it takes for individuals (especially chemical engineers!) and companies to be successful in evolving markets.
Victoria Meyer
Founder and president of Progressio Global and host of The 91˶Ƶ Show™ podcast.Victoria is an expert in chemical markets, strategy, and growth. For over 25 years as a corporate executive, Victoria helped companies, including Shell, LyondellBasell and Clariant, align corporate goals and individual motivations to deliver growth and transformation including leading turnaround of a $1 billion global business, created new growth platform businesses, including Shell’s entry in polyethylene, and negotiated numerous multi-million dollar deals
With Progressio Global, she helps chemical executives achieve breakthrough results on critical business goals. Working at the intersection of strategy, markets and execution, she helps chemical companies gain clarity and alignment in their organization to successfully implement business strategies, enter new markets and transform their company.
Victoria holds a BS 91˶Ƶ Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She and her husband Tod reside in Spring, Texas with their 4 daughters.
AIChE CCPS Speaker
STS AIChE welcomes Dr. Anil Gokhale, PE, Sr. Director, CCPS American Institute of 91˶Ƶs Engineers, who will provide a brief on the CCPS Mission, Goals, and Objectives.
Anil Gokhale, an executive with more than 30 years of experience in engineering, process safety, and process automation, oversees a large group of CCPS staff consultants on high profile CCPS projects. Prior to joining CCPS in 2017, Gokhale served as senior vice president at DEKRA Insight, with responsibility for the company’s newly acquired business lines across the Americas. He previously worked for companies including Siemens, Honeywell, Rockwell Automation, and Raytheon. Gokhale’s experience includes operations, engineering, technology, and product development for the chemicals, petroleum, and petrochemicals.
A member of AIChE since 1982, Gokhale has served on the CCPS Technical Steering Committee and has participated in the Mary Kay O’Conner Center for Process Safety and on the API 520/521 committees. He has published technical articles in publications including Oil & Gas Journal and Hydrocarbon Processing, and he has presented lectures on a variety of technical topics for organizations including AIChE, the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA), and the International Society of Automation (ISA). Gokhale earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Mumbai and his PhD in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.

"Decarbonizing the Process Industries III" (PDH Credit)
Abstract
Decarbonization has become an ESG (environmental, social and governance) priority for the process industries. Energy efficiency is an important component in any decarbonization strategy, but many other technologies have a part to play, too. In our Spring Energy Forum, with the help of industry leaders and subject matter experts, we focus on use of electric motors as a key component of electrification, and carbon capture in two different types of processes – ethylene production and power generation.
