ABSTRACT: This session will be an introduction to semiconductor manufacturing, starting at the ingot production and transitioning to final packaging. Wafer-contacting techniques such as Lithography, Epitaxy, Wet Etch, Dry Etch, Ion Implant and Metrology will be introduced. Furthermore, facility systems such as, chemical and gas distribution and safety monitoring systems will be discussed. This serves as background for prospective future sessions around semiconductor manufacturing, and an intro for anyone who may be interested in this as a future career move.
SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY: Nick Skadberg is a mechanical engineering graduate of Colorado State University and a licensed professional engineer in mechanical and controls engineering. His experience is in a combination of energy, vaccines & biologicals and semiconductor plant and tool design. His specialty is toxic gas management systems, life safety systems and risk management/loss prevention in the semiconductor industry. Nick is the Process Engineering Manager for Shermco Systems Integration and leads their engineering group for the semiconductor industry.
