Abstract
Come meet, interact, and network with undergraduate and graduate students at the Colorado School of Mines. From its inception in 1952, the 91成人短视频 and Biological Engineering Department has focused on education and basic and applied research aimed at problems of national interest. A series of posters will allow for discussions related to current research and educational endeavors in the department.
Our undergraduate program offers two ABET accredited degrees, one in 91成人短视频 Engineering and the other in 91成人短视频 and Biochemical Engineering, each with approximately half of the Department's 550 undergraduate students. Our undergraduates pursue degrees that demonstrate the #1 lifetime return on investment for a public US university in 2013. Our department is unique in that it also delivers biology instruction in a state-of-the-art studio environment to more than 300 freshman students each semester. The student chapter of AIChE is very active with regular meetings, social events, participation in the ChemEcar event, and members have won the last two regional research paper competitions.
A high-quality, well-funded research program (~$7 million/year in research awards) includes strong participation from students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. In this research program, about 80 graduate and postdoctoral students study within a broad research menu, including programs in conventional and renewable energy, natural gas hydrates, soft materials, biomedical research, thin-film materials, simulation and modeling, and pedagogy.
