“Understanding Lithium Ion Battery Systems”

Now ubiquitous in our society, Lithium-ion battery technology has been instrumental in the development of energy storage systems (ESS), and electric vehicles (EVs). It is becoming more and more important to understand the associated environmental, societal and safety risks of this technology. In this presentation, we shall explore this technology, including battery system construction, state-of-charge (SOC), thermal runaway and fire-fighting considerations.

Peter Sibilski has over 40 years of experience in project management, product development, and energy management in the process-chemical and pharmaceuticals industries. He received his BSChE in 1981 from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and has an MBA in Technology Management from The University of Phoenix. Peter is a licensed P.E. in New Jersey, and is also a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
