Implementing and utilizing a formal change procedure in the production area or elsewhere, promotes safe operations and can prevent injury and even death. It will also favorably impact a company鈥檚 bottom-line and is an integral part of a properly implemented OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) program. This presentation will look at the 1974 Flixborough, UK disaster, the origins of management of change requirements in the process chemical industry, and, using the experience of Sam Shortcut - Plant Engineer as a guide, provide an overview of what a well-designed management of change program looks like.
Attendees will earn 1 PDH of continuing education credit.
