Today’s engineers now need a toolkit that contains not only their core discipline expertise and knowledge, but also skills such as: international business knowledge, leadership skills; and general technology skills. In addition, to succeed in the global marketplace and remain relevant and at the forefront of their fields, today’s engineers need to ensure that they have several important, yet “non-traditional” skills.
At this meeting, attendees will be introduced to those “non-traditional”, skills and shown how they are relevant to today’s practicing engineers. This presentation will be followed by a Q&A discussion with a panel of engineers of various experience levels and expertise, who will share their experiences and how they have used both their traditional and non-traditional skills to “evolve” from engineering school graduate to a successful and effective practicing engineer.
