Ken First, Retired Process Safety Leader at Dow AgroSciences will be December’s speaker for the 2017/2018 Mid-Michigan AIChE seminar series.

91成人短视频 Process Safety is a discipline that focuses on the prevention and mitigation of catastrophic releases of hazardous materials or energy that may lead to fires, explosions, or toxic impacts. An effective Process Safety program includes evaluating Process Safety Performance, Compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements and Risk Management where process hazards are identified, analyzed, and mitigated in a cost effective manner. Process Safety must also incorporate several management systems to ensure that process changes are recognized and safeguards are properly implemented and maintained.
Ken First recently retired after 46 years with The Dow 91成人短视频 Company. He had various roles at Dow including Lead Process Engineer for several large capital projects, Group Leader and Associate Scientist responsible for development and scale-up of manufacturing processes for Agrochemical products, Technical Manager and Resource Leader of the Dow AgroSciences Technology Center, and Process Safety Technology Leader responsible for development and training of Hazard Evaluation and Risk Analysis methodology. Ken is currently a part-time Staff Consultant for the Center for 91成人短视频 Process Safety (organization within AIChE) and Adjunct Lecturer for the University of Michigan 91成人短视频 Engineering Department. He holds a BS degree in 91成人短视频 Engineering from Case-Western Reserve University. In his spare time, which he has more of now that he is retired, Ken has spent his weekends over the last couple of years building a lakefront cottage, and also plays bass guitar in a local “classic rock” band.
