Nathan Smith, a graduate student from Penn State University in Materials Science and Engineering, is the winner of this year's NED graduate student presentation award. Nathan presented a talk on "Electrochemical Separation of Cs from Molten Salts using Liquid Metal Electrodes" in the session on Nuclear Applications of Electrochemical Engineering. Nathan is a doctoral student studying under the guidance of Prof. Hojong Kim. Nathan's research was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy's Nuclear Energy University Program. The award includes a $500 prize.
