Zheng Li

Zheng Li  has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the State University of New York.  He has a M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University. Zheng Li also has a B.Eng. in Materials Physics from Jilin Universit.

From 2013 to 2014, Zheng Li was a senior research scientist at 24M Technologies, Inc. From 2011 to 2015, he was a postdoctoral research associate and until 2016, he was a research scientist in the department of Materials Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From 2015 to 2016, Zheng was a research scientist. Currently, Zheng Li is an assistant professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Zheng Li's research interest is in energy storage system design and manufacturing. This includes flow batteries, lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, multivalent intercalation system, and metal-sulfur and metal-air batteries. He is interested in battery recycling process design and automation and energy storage materials structure-property-performance relationships.
