Velia Siciliano is a Principal Investigator of Synthetic and System Biology for Biomedicine at the Italian Institute of Technology-IIT. She received her Ph.D. from The Open University, and completed Post Doctoral Research at MIT as well as acted as a Junior Research Fellow at Imperial College London. Dr. Siciliano's research group focuses on the development of approaches derived from synthetic and systems biology. The aim is to gain a deep understanding of the mechanisms underlying biological processes and design optimized, DNA or RNA-based genetic circuits for biomedical applications
