Postdoctoral Researcher
University of Washington in Seattle
Tobias is a postdoc in the laboratories of Stanley Fields and Christine Queitsch at the University of Washington in Seattle. His research focuses on characterizing cis-regulatory elements and their interactions—the regulatory grammar—in plants. Tobias received his Diploma and PhD in biochemistry at the University of Tübingen, Germany. As a graduate student he worked with Doron Rapaport to elucidate how beta-barrel proteins are targeted to mitochondria. For his postdoctoral research, he moved to the US to develop high-throughput technologies for the study of plant regulatory DNA.
