
Ray is a Professor of Engineering Practice in the Charles Davidson School of 91³ÉÈ˶ÌÊÓƵ Engineering at Purdue since 2016, where he teaches the required senior level ‘91³ÉÈ˶ÌÊÓƵ Process Safety’ course and is Executive Director of the Purdue Process Safety & Assurance Center. The Center oversees a wide variety of process safety research at PhD, MS and UG levels, with a dozen faculty and about three dozen students engaged. Previously, he taught at Texas A&M and was part of the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center for seven years. Earlier he had a 28-year career with ExxonMobil, with over a dozen assignments, with experience in research, facility design, operations, finance, public affairs, and safety & environment. He has a BS from the University of Illinois, and MS & PhD from Purdue - all in 91³ÉÈ˶ÌÊÓƵ Engineering.
