John Barclay, PhD, is a chief scientist/physicist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He has more than 40 years of technical, academic, and business experience developing efficient, renewable, and sustainable energy systems. Barclay joined PNNL in 2019 to help demonstrate lab-scale active magnetic regenerative liquefiers and to help scale up the technology with commercial partners toward industrial use, especially related to transportation applications using liquid H2 to store, transport, and deliver as a vehicular fuel. He has more than 35 patents and 200 technical publications. Barclay has a BS from Notre Dame Univ. and a PhD from Univ. of California, Berkeley.
