Ian Lutz is a Senior Engineer in Solvay鈥檚 North American R&D Technology Center, where he has gained expertise in the development and optimization of batch processes for the manufacture of a wide range of specialty surfactants. He has successfully applied engineering principles to aid in the safe and efficient scale-up of dozens of new commercial products. As part of Solvay鈥檚 commitment to continuous improvement, he has earned his Six Sigma Green Belt and has led several process innovation efforts, resulting in step-changes in process performance and operating culture.
In 2010, Ian relocated to University Park, IL to act as a liaison between the R&D function and Solvay鈥檚 Midwestern surfactant plants, thereby expanding his role as a steward for best manufacturing practices.
