
Haroon S. Kheshgi is the Global Climate Change Program Leader at ExxonMobil鈥檚 Corporate Strategic Research. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Illinois (Urbana, B.S. 1978) and the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, Ph.D. 1984). He pursued research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (1983-1986) before joining Exxon Research and Engineering Company in 1986.
At ExxonMobil Corporate Strategic Research his research addresses many aspects of global climate change including carbon cycle, detection and attribution of climate change, paleoclimate implications, and the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. He has contributed to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as lead author, contributing author, and review editor in the IPCC鈥檚 last three assessment reports, its Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage, and its Special Report on Land Use Change. Recent activities include participation in the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association鈥檚 Climate Change Working Group as its chair, the Engineering Founder Societies鈥 project on carbon management, the Society of Petroleum Engineering鈥檚 committee on carbon capture and storage, and the 91成人短视频 Energy Advisory Board.
Dr. Kheshgi is currently Associate Editor of the journal Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies for Global Change, and a member of the US Carbon Cycles Science Steering Group and the NRC Climate Research Committee.
