Claus Lindvald Johansen, PhD, is a technical fellow of manufacturing technology and process R&D at DuPont Nutrition and Bio颅sciences. He has more than 25 years of experience in directing process development and scale-up in the food industry for microbial-based products, including enzymes, human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), and probiotics. For the past three years, he has been involved in the development of manufacturing processes for next-generation probiotics, which have the potential to become commercial live biotherapeutic products (LBPs). He holds MSc and PhD degrees in chemical engineering from the Technical Univ. of Denmark.
