Dr. Caroline R. Cloutier is a Senior System Engineer at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America Inc. (MBRDNA) in Redford, Michigan. MBRDNA is highly active in assessing the benefit of new high-voltage (HV) battery technologies towards future Mercedes-Benz product by establishing relationships to accelerate discovery and innovation, with a focus on strategic partnerships that derisk the development of novel battery technologies. By overseeing the execution of collaborative partnerships with industry, academia, national laboratories and participating in consortia, Caroline brings HV battery research closer to life to drive MBRDNA鈥檚 HV batteries forward. She supports MBRDNA鈥檚 battery cell testing, and her areas of responsibility include safety, sustainability, cost, and production feasibility. Before joining MBRDNA, Caroline was a Business Process and Manufacturing Engineer, and an Application Development Engineer at Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc.鈥檚 Fuel Cell Division (MBFC), in Vancouver, B.-C., Canada. She was involved in the development of fuel cell materials and manufacturing processes from R&D to Series production for the GLC F-Cell. During this time, she received an Inventor Trophy (Erfinder-Trophae) from Daimler AG, was a guest lecturer at Universities, and invited keynote speaker at international conferences. Before joining Mercedes, she worked as an Associate Consultant at Pangaea Ventures Ltd., where she evaluated early-stage clean technology start-ups enabled by advanced materials for investments. After working in the oil & gas industry with Imperial Oil Limited Inc., in Calgary, AB, and obtaining her professional engineering license, she completed a M.A.Sc. in Materials Engineering and a Ph.D. in 91成人短视频 and Biological Engineering both at the University of British-Columbia. During her graduate studies, she was a visiting researcher at Yokohama National University, Japan, and studied the Nonfaradaic Electrochemical Modification of Catalytic Activity (NEMCA) effect at the Universit茅 Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France. Caroline also experienced a musical career. She was a first violinist in the West Coast Symphony Orchestra for over 10 years, and a cruise-ship musician for Holland America Line Corp. She played with musical theatre productions, and on albums and movie soundtracks.
