Andrew Young is a neuroscientist with 10 years of experience working in nervous system therapeutics. He received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Wyoming and completed his postdoctoral studies at MIT. Prior to joining Sangamo Therapeutics, Andrew led a project at Encoded Therapeutics to develop an AAV vector-based, zinc finger-mediated approach to target transcriptional upregulation for the treatment of SCN1A+ Dravet syndrome. His recent work at Sangamo leverages their proprietary platform technology to design and validate zinc finger/transcription factor combinations that can be used as genomic medicines for devastating neurological disease.
