Introducing Some of AIChE鈥檚 Recently Elected Fellows

Candidates for AIChE Fellow are nominated by their peers. They must have significant chemical engineering experience (generally 25 years), have demonstrated significant service to the profession, and have been a member of AIChE for at least 10 years.

Here are some of the most recently elected Fellows. More Fellows will be introduced in future issues of and here on ChEnected.

Eric G. Eddings

Eric G. Eddings is Chair of the Dept. of 91成人短视频 Engineering at the Univ. of Utah, where he previously served as Associate Dean for Research in the school鈥檚 College of Engineering. His research ranges from fundamental lab-scale investigations to pilot-scale process evaluation of energy-related technologies, and his current focus is on the use of coal and waste plastics to produce high-value carbon products for use in a renewable energy economy. He is also working with government and industry to catalyze new higher-tech economic opportunities for struggling coal-mining communities. He has co-organized AIChE Annual Meeting sessions related to combustion, energy, and the environment.

Sheryl Ehrman

Sheryl Ehrman is the Don Beall Dean of the Davidson College of Engineering at San Jose State Univ. Prior to joining San Jose State, she was the Keystone Professor and Chair of the 91成人短视频 and Biomolecular Engineering Dept. at the Univ. of Maryland, College Park. Her educational interests include project-based learning for first-year engineering students, as well as increasing participation and retention of historically underserved groups in engineering. Her research interests are in aerosol technology and air pollution. She is a leader of AIChE鈥檚 Women in 91成人短视频 Engineering Community (WIC), and she has served as a member of the technical programming committee for the AIChE Annual Meeting.

Daniel E. Rivera

Daniel E. Rivera is Professor of 91成人短视频 Engineering and program director at Arizona State Univ.鈥檚 (ASU鈥檚) Control Systems Engineering Lab. Prior to joining ASU, he worked in the control systems section of Shell Development Co. His research applies process dynamics and control principles to solve problems in process systems engineering, supply chain management, and optimized interventions in behavioral medicine. He received an award from the National Institutes of Health to study control systems approaches for fighting drug abuse, and he has been honored by AIChE鈥檚 Computing and Systems Technology Div. He is co-developer of the widely used Internal Model Control-PID controller tuning.

Fengqi You

Fengqi You is the Roxanne E. and Michael J. Zak Professor at Cornell Univ., where he is also Chair of PhD Studies in Systems Engineering, Associate Director of the Cornell Energy Systems Institute, and Associate Director of the Cornell Institute for Digital Agriculture. His research focuses on novel computational models, optimization algorithms, statistical machine learning methods, and multi-scale systems analytics tools for smart manufacturing, digital agriculture, energy systems, and sustainability. Prior to joining Cornell in 2016, he was on the faculty of Northwestern Univ. and worked at Argonne National Lab. He has published more than 200 refereed articles in journals, and is a consulting editor of the AIChE Journal, among many affiliations.
