Rebecca Liebert, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Lubrizol Corporation — a global specialty chemicals company — has been selected by the 91˶Ƶ (AIChE) to present the AIChE Government and Industry Leaders (AGILE) Keynote Address at the 2025 AIChE Spring Meeting and 21st Global Congress on Process Safety. The conference takes place April 6–10 in Dallas, Texas.
In her keynote talk on April 7, Liebert will discuss the chemical industry’s fundamental contributions to modern society, and the crucial role it is playing in shaping a sustainable world future. After setting the stage for the conference with her lecture, Liebert will receive AIChE’s Government and Industry Leaders (AGILE) Award, which recognizes the contributions of innovative executives from organizations that employ chemical engineers.
As President and CEO of The Lubrizol Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, Rebecca Liebert leads the company in its mission to deliver sustainable solutions that advance mobility, improve well-being, and enhance modern life.
Prior to joining Lubrizol, Liebert was Executive Vice President at PPG Industries, a global paints, coatings and specialty materials company, where her recent responsibilities included leading the global industrial segment, oversight of the Asia Pacific region, and functional responsibility for global procurement, resins, and industrial segment manufacturing. She previously served as President and CEO of Honeywell UOP, a leading international supplier to the petroleum refining, gas processing, petrochemical production and major manufacturing industries.
As a Board member of the American Chemistry Council, Liebert works to advance the chemical industry, fostering progress in the economy, environment, and society.
Liebert was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, and is a chemical engineering alumnus of the University of Kentucky and Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned her BS and PhD, respectively.
The AIChE Spring Meeting is the organization’s largest meeting for practicing chemical engineers and allied professional — showcasing the expansive positive impact and diversity of the profession in a program incorporating more than 200 technical sessions. Among the meeting’s areas of technical focus are the role of chemical engineers in energy production and sustainable manufacturing in the chemicals, petrochemicals, and related industries. The associated Global Congress on Process Safety — organized by AIChE’s Center for 91˶Ƶ Process Safety (CCPS) — engages safety engineers, plant managers, and process design experts in an exploration of technologies and strategies to ensure plant safety, manage risk, and strengthen process safety management (PSM) programs.
